The Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) has asked the European Ombudsman to inform members of the Network that the FRA plans to produce a Handbook on Access to Justice in Europe.

The idea is to provide an accessible summary and analysis of the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union and of the European Court of Human Rights (supplemented by national case law, where available) on key topics in the area of access to justice. The intended audience is judges and legal professionals at national level as well as non-governmental organisations involved in assisting victims in accessing justice.

The project builds on the methodology followed in the handbooks previously published by the FRA together with the European Court of Human Rights and the Council of Europe. These can be found at:

https://fra.europa.eu/en/publication/2014/handbook-european-data-protection-law

If you have any suggestions as regards the content, the framework, or the case-law for the Handbook, please contact the FRA directly by e-mail (michal.nespor@fra.europa.eu), preferably by 29 September 2014.

The FRA has published a Call for a negotiated procedure for a contractor to draft the Handbook and expressions of interest from experts of relevant backgrounds are therefore welcome. Details of this negotiated procedure can be found on the following website:
