Many thanks to the 38 offices that responded to the European Network of Ombudsmen membership survey 2013. In total, 25 national ombudsmen and committees on petitions replied to the survey, as well as 10 regional ombudsmen and committees on petitions. Three other respondents also participated. The participation rate from national ombudsman offices was 70% - an excellent result for a survey of this kind.
The full survey results are available on the Extranet at:
Over the coming days, Ombudsman Daily News will present some of the key findings from the survey.
Based on the results, we will move forward in the coming months to implement the priorities and activities identified through the survey. We will take the opportunity provided by the forthcoming Ninth Liaison Seminar of the European Network of Ombudsmen to analyse the survey results in more detail and to discuss how best to develop the Network based on the replies received from survey respondents.
The positive feedback received (85% of respondents who expressed a view would speak highly about the Network) is most encouraging, while the one critical reply to this question shows us that there is still room for improvement.
If you have further ideas or suggestions based on reading the results of the survey, please let me know.
Thanks again for your help.
