We need to actively promote the many benefits of fundamental rights to the whole of society who seem to have lost confidence in rights to help steer us through these turbulent times in which rights are threatened. This was one of the FRA Director’s messages when outlining the Agency’s 2017 priorities of migration, intolerance, security and rights promotion during the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) meeting in Brussels on 9 February.
