A bussines handover (left: Peter Svetina, a new ombudsman, right: Vlasta Nussdorfer, a former ombudsman)

On 24 February 2019 the new human rights ombudsman in the Republic of Slovenia Peter Svetina is starting his six-year term. He was elected by the National Assembly on 29 January 2019, with the votes of 89 of the 90 deputies.

Vlasta Nussdorfer saw her six-year term of office end on 23 February 2019.

The official handover of business was made on 22 February at the office of the human rights ombudsman.
