WORLD | Newly adopted UN Resolution further strengthens Ombudsman institutions worldwideOn 15 December 2022, the UN General Assembly adopted the Resolution on the role of Ombudsman and mediator institutions in the promotion and protection of human rights, good governance and the rule of law. This new version of the Resolution draws attention to Ombudsman institutions’ NPM mandate, Ombudsman under threat, the Venice Principles as well as the IOI’s important role as a platform for best practice sharing between Ombudsman offices.
