1st Vice-President of the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen - AOM) the Commissioner for Administration and Protection of Human Rights.

In the framework of the "Protecting human rights in the digital age and in social media" conference co-organised by the Commissioner for Administration and the Protection of Human Rights-Cyprus Ombudsman together with the Association of Mediators of the Mediterranean (AOM) and the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe in Paphos, a session of the Governing Board of the AOM was held, of which the Commissioner is a member.

An Extraordinary General Meeting followed to discuss and make decisions on various issues, one of which was the election of the 1st Vice President of the AOM.

After the secret ballot, the Commissioner was elected 1st Vice-President, with a large majority.

It is noted that the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen (AOM) lists 29 Ombudsman from 28 countries and 6 international organizations participate in its work as Observers.

The conference held in Paphos is attended by, among others, Ombudsman from Malta, Ukraine, Greece, Albania, Slovenia, Morocco, Jordan, Andorra, etc.
