The Public Defender of Georgia has published its annual report on the situation of the human rights and freedoms in Georgia. The report reviews the challenges and progress in the direction of the protection of human rights guaranteed by the Constitution, as well as the state of implementation of recommendations. In 2023, positive steps were taken in various areas, but efforts are still needed to improve the protection of human rights.

The Defender has prepared a  short summary of the main findings of the report. The full text of the report can be accessed in Georgian here. The report is currently being translated and will be available in English soon.
