FRA has published its contribution to the European Commission as part of the consultation for the next EU budget.

FRA’s input focused on ensuring values-based conditionality for all EU funding. This aims to ensure the EU’s Financial Regulation complies with the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. 

It was part of the public consultation on the performance of the EU budget. 

Based on its long-standing work on the Charter as well as its 2023 report on EU Funds, FRA’s input also underlines the need to ensure independent monitoring of the respect for the EU’s values when using EU funds.
