The FRA Director and colleagues took part in a number of engagements under the Disability Rights Week from 2 to 4 December in Brussels, organised by EU institutions.

The Director outlined FRA’s positions, priorities and ongoing work as regards disability to the European Parliament’s Committee on Petitions and the Parliament’s Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. 

FRA Spokesperson Nicole Romain took part in the Parliament’s first Digital Accessibility Day sharing insights from its work on digital accessibility and inclusion. 

FRA expert Nevena Peneva presented FRA’s recently published report, ‘Places of Care = Places of Safety? Violence against persons with disabilities in institutions’, in a panel discussion hosted by the Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. 

The Agency also attended the European Commission’s ‘European Day of Persons with Disabilities’ Conference.
