The Public Defender of Georgia reached a settlement in a case of alleged discrimination on political grounds. As a result of the settlement process led by the Public Defender, the parties fulfilled the conditions stipulated in the settlement act, as a result of which the applicant fully realized his legal interest.

This is the first case of settlement in a case of alleged discrimination on political grounds and represents a significant step forward in the development of effective practice in the protection of rights within the framework of the anti-discrimination mechanism.

The Public Defender will continue to actively promote the use of mediation and settlement mechanisms in the future to promote the right to equality.
