Dr Simona Drenik Bavdek, the Human Rights Ombudswoman, will conduct operations outside the Ombudsman's headquarters in Novo Mesto on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. At the municipal administration premises, she and her colleagues will be available to discuss and consult with residents of the Municipality of Novo Mesto, as well as those from the wider region, who believe that their human rights have been violated by state authorities, local government bodies, or holders of public authority, and who require the Ombudsman’s assistance in asserting their rights.
Anyone wishing to speak with the Ombudswoman or her staff, submit an initiative or complaint, or seek advice regarding possible rights violations is kindly requested to register by Friday 15 May at the latest by calling +386 30 720 225.
The Human Rights Ombudsman of the Republic of Slovenia has been carrying out activities outside its headquarters for 30 years. These visits are intended to reach individuals who, for various reasons, are unable to visit the institution in Ljubljana in person. On average, representatives of the institution visit different parts of Slovenia once a month, where pre-registered individuals are given the opportunity to present their concerns and possible violations of their rights in a brief personal meeting. This approach makes it easier for residents of Slovenia to access protection and exercise their rights.
