The Parliamentary Ombudsman, Chief Justice Emeritus Joseph Said Pullicino, subscribes with the following statement issued by Mr Igli Totozani, President of the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen (AOM):
“AOM strongly condemns the terrorist attack in the offices of the French magazine “Charlie Hebdo”. AOM expresses compassion and solidarity for the injured families and support to the French people and authorities at this difficult moment of such tragedy. French democracy, freedom of speech and thought as well as respect for human rights are valuable assets which cannot be violated by anyone, but they are a symbol and a guide for all countries with fragile democracy.”
