The dataset of the FRA violence against women survey is stored with the UK Data Service, which is a recognised international service that is widely used by governmental and non-governmental institutions that produce survey data.

The data is available free of charge. Persons who have not previously used the UK Data Service first need to sign up for a username and password. The data set is available under Special Licence, which means that applicants need to indicate that they will abide by some basic rules when using the data. These rules are necessary to ensure that the data is not used in a way that could jeopardise the confidentiality and anonymity of the respondents.

Detailed information on how the data was collected can be found in the Technical Report that accompanies the survey. In addition, the survey results can be accessed using the interactive online data explorer on the FRA website. The FRA’s own analysis of the survey data is available on the FRA website in the form of a comprehensive report.

Following the release of the violence against women survey dataset, FRA will be making available the datasets from its other surveys over the coming months. In each case FRA will closely examine the datasets to ensure the anonymity of respondents.
