The Ombudsman Mr. Ixhet Memeti had a protocol meeting with the newly appointed ambassador of the United States of America in the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Jess L. Baily.

At the meeting the Ombudsman Mr. Memeti and the Ambassador Baily talked about the current situation in the country, the overall situation with the respect of human rights and freedoms of the citizens in the Republic of Macedonia, and the challenges and opportunities this institution for human rights protection has.

During the discussion both interlocutors agreed to continue the cooperation, in particular in the field of human rights promotion.
