Welcome to the Winter 2015 issue of the Ombudsman's Casebook.

This Casebook contains summaries of recent cases the Ombudsman has dealt with. The Ombudsman hopes that by sharing the outcomes of cases, we will all learn from the mistakes and good practice of others.

In this month's Casebook:

  • cases where applicants were incorrectly refused social welfare payments
  • a complaint about a passport application from a 'joint guardian' of a child
  • a case where relevant medical evidence was not sought from a cancer patient
  • cases relating to Single Farm Payments, Education Grants, Council estate management and many others.

The link to the Casebook is below. Please note it is in PDF format.
