This Casebook contains summaries of recent cases the Ombudsman has dealt with. The Ombudsman hopes that by sharing the outcomes of cases, we will all learn from the mistakes and good practice of others.

The cases summarised in this Autumn's Casebook include complaints about:

  • the refusal of learning supports for pupils with disabilities (RACE scheme)
  •
  • investigation and complaints procedures
  •
  • lost property in a hospital
  •
  • job seekers allowance, guardian payments and other social welfare schemes.
