The recommendation of the Ombudsperson on applying concessions in granting mortgage loans to the persons who worked as a teacher in state-owned secondary educational facilities at least for 15 years has been taken into consideration by the government. As such, recently, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev has signed a Decree On making amendments to the “Rule of granting mortgage loans, including preferential mortgages at the expense of the Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund”. According to the relevant changes, teachers who worked at least for 15 years in state-owned secondary educational facilitieswill be able to receive mortgage loans at a special reduced rate. In addition, the length of service of teachers who are a member of a young family wasreduced from 5 to 3 years, and not only teachers working in state-owned secondary educational facilities but also those who are a member of a young family working in other educational facilities will be able to receive mortgage loans at reduced rate.
