At its meeting of 22 September 2020 the Committee examined a petition regarding the situation of foreign-language lecturers in Italy, in particular the respect for acquired rights of ex-foreign lecturers (ex-lettori) who have become CELs (collaboratori esperti linguistici). The petition has originally been submitted in 1998. Since then, the Commission launched a Pilot case which has been ongoing for 9 years.

The meeting was the occasion to have a discussion on the state of play of the EU Pilot and to push for a final outcome.
