EUROPE | Protecting human rights in prisons while preventing radicalization - a guide for detention monitors

Preventing and countering violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism (VERLT) is an area of increasing focus at the international, regional and national levels. This also applies to the prison context, due to fears that prisons may represent breeding grounds for VERLT. In a joint project, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and Penal Reform International (PRI) prepared a guide, which seeks to provide detention monitors with an enhanced understanding of VERLT and discusses the key human rights issues arising in the context of preventing and countering VERLT in prisons.

Le Bureau de l’ombud des vétérans (BOV) a publié aujourd’hui son rapport intitulé Soutien par les pairs pour les vétérans ayant subi un traumatisme sexuel militaire.

Le BOV recommande au ministre des Anciens Combattants de mettre en place un programme de soutien par les pairs financé qui répond aux besoins des vétérans qui ont subi un TSM.
