A delegation of the Committee on Petitions will visit the Hauts-de-France region from Monday to Wednesday to investigate the safety situation at truck parks.

After petition 0549/2021 highlighted concerns of unsafe conditions in EU truck parks, MEPs will investigate the situation on the ground in northern France from 23 to 25 May.

On Monday, they will meet with petitioners and local law enforcement authorities, followed by a visit to several truck parks on Tuesday and talks with road transport interest groups. Finally, on Wednesday, the MEPs and law enforcement officials will visit the service area along the A28 motorway where a driver was killed in 2021.
