Dans cette édition, l’organisation dresse un constat préoccupant : la montée de l’autoritarisme, le recul des institutions démocratiques et la fragilisation de l’ordre international fondé sur des règles menacent directement la protection des libertés fondamentales : restrictions de la liberté d’expression, discriminations envers des groupes marginalisés, remise en cause des droits des femmes et des personnes LGBTQ+, instrumentalisation des politiques migratoires, ainsi qu’affaiblissement des mécanismes de contrôle démocratique.

 

 

Découvrez le rapport d’enquête Gestion des cas complexes dans les établissements de détention du Québec, publié par le Protecteur du citoyen. Ce document met en lumière les défis croissants auxquels font face les établissements carcéraux devant une population incarcérée marquée par des enjeux de santé mentale, de dépendance et de grande vulnérabilité sociale. À partir d’une analyse approfondie des pratiques en vigueur, l’enquête révèle que les réponses apportées aux comportements difficiles reposent encore largement sur des mesures coercitives, notamment l’isolement prolongé. Le rapport souligne les conséquences de ces interventions sur les droits, la dignité et le bien-être des personnes incarcérées, tout en questionnant leur efficacité à long terme.

 

 

Découvrez le quatrième volet de l'Enquête sur l'accès aux droits du Défenseur des droits, consacré aux perceptions et aux réactions des parents face au harcèlement et aux discriminations en milieu scolaire. Cette étude met en lumière les difficultés rencontrées par les familles, leurs démarches pour faire valoir les droits de leurs enfants ainsi que les réponses apportées par les établissements scolaires. Un éclairage essentiel pour mieux comprendre les enjeux liés à la protection des élèves et à la lutte contre les violences et discriminations à l'école.
