Volksanwalt Günther Kräuter besuchte zwischen 1. und 3. Juli 2014 die „Global Ombudsman Conference“ in Seoul, bei der er mit Vertreterinnen und Vertretern von Ombudseinrichtungen aus über zwölf Staaten zusammentraf. Die Teilnehmenden konnten von einem regen gegenseitigen Austausch über vergangene Erfahrungen und aktuelle Herausforderungen profitieren.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, acknowledged the agency’s role in helping to build a critical mass to promote and protect fundamental rights within the EU. Her comments were made during her visit to FRA on 3 July to talk of her experiences leading the global struggle for human rights.

The Catalan Ombudsman informed the President of the Parliament of Catalonia, Núria de Gispert, about his decision to give up his right to parliamentary immunity. Such a privilege is granted by Law 36/1985, of 6 November, by which the relations between the Spanish Ombudsman and other similar figures in the different regions are regulated.
