Le 20 mai marque l’anniversaire de la fondation de l’Association des Ombudsmans et Médiateurs de la Francophonie (AOMF).
18 membres fondateurs (dont l'ancien Médiateur de la Région wallonne, Frédéric Bovesse) adoptèrent les premiers Statuts, le 20 mai 1998 à Nouakchott en Mauritanie, c’est aujourd’hui une cinquantaine de membres provenant d’Afrique, d’Amérique, d’Asie, et d’Europe qui travaillent quotidiennement à l’amélioration de la qualité des services publics.
