Families are living excluded from society in shocking conditions, while children with little education face bleak prospects for the future, a new report from the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) shows. The report analyses the gaps in Roma inclusion around the EU to guide Member States seeking to improve their integration policies.

National Preventive Mechanisms of the South-East Europe Network to meet in Zagreb

National preventive mechanisms (NPM) from 13 countries will gather in Zagreb on 29 and 30 November 2016 for the Conference of NPMs of the South-East Europe Network.

The Conference is dedicated to the marking of 10 years of the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (OPCAT). During the two days, the event will include discussions on strengthening the follow-up of NPM
recommendations, implementation of the UN Mandela Rules and the role of NPMs in protection of refugees and migrants.

The conference will include participation of the representatives of the Council of Europe, OSCE/ODIHR and the UN Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture (SPT). It is organised by the Office of the Ombudswoman of Croatia, with the support of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute, Council of Europe and Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) of Switzerland.

NPMs are in charge with the prevention of torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment in places where persons deprived of their liberty, as well as the persons who are detained, imprisoned or placed in a public custodial setting which they are not allowed to leave, are kept. In Croatia, NPM was founded in 2012., under the authority of the Office of the Ombudswoman.

Huesca acoge la clausura del Foro de Derecho Aragonés con una sesión sobre herencias en favor de la Comunidad Autónoma

El salón de actos de la Diputación Provincial de Huesca acogerá mañana, 29 de noviembre de 2016, a las 19,00 horas, la última sesión de los Vigésimo sextos Encuentros del Foro de Derecho Aragonés titulada “La sucesión legal a favor de la Comunidad Autónoma de Aragón”

El Profesor titular de Derecho Civil de la Universidad de Zaragoza, Miguel Lacruz Mantecón, impartirá la ponencia central e intervendrá en calidad de coponente, el Director General de los Servicios Jurídicos de la DGA, Vitelio Tena Piazuelo.

Como es tradicional en las sesiones del Foro, la entrada es libre y a las intervenciones seguirá un coloquio abierto a la participación de todos los asistentes.
