El pleno del Observatorio del Menor del Síndic de Greuges ha debatido hoy la situación de la trata de menores en la Comunidad Valenciana, una realidad oculta difícil de detectar y proteger, y de la que no existen datos oficiales.

La trata es un negocio de compra-venta de personas con fines de explotación diversos: sexual, laboral, para la mendicidad, el tráfico de órganos, etcétera. “Los menores son las víctimas más ocultas de las redes, los más difíciles de detectar y proteger”, así lo ha manifestado la abogada Mónica Gutiérrez, de la Sección del Menor del Colegio Oficial de Abogados de Valencia, quien ha expuesto el tema.

The Commissioner for Human Rights addressed the Chairman of the National Council of the Judiciary regarding anti-Semitic posts on the web.

Text of the letter:

In August 2015, on the online forum of Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, a user with the nickname jorry123 published a post which was anti-Semitic in nature and which called the Jewish nation a vile and lousy nation. The person with that nickname published also several other hateful posts on the web, for example one that referred to the pogrom in Kielce as a provocation by the communist Security Service, and as one knows, in that Security Service Jews formed a majority, so they attacked other Jews in order to justify the further war against the indomitable soldiers.

Two new Ombudsmen

On Monday 9 September, two new Parliamentary Ombudsmen, Katarina Påhlsson and Per Lennerbrant, took up their positions, replacing Cecilia Renfors and Lars Lindström.

Katarina Påhlsson has been a Senior Judge of Appeal at Svea Court of Appeal since 2015. Prior to this, she was a Senior Judge of Appeal at at the Court of Appeal for Western Sweden. Katarina Påhlsson has also served as a judge and later Senior Judge at Gothenburg District Court. She has also participated as secretary and expert in a number of government investigations. Since 2017, Katarina Påhlsson has been the third deputy chair of the Press Council and since 2015 she has been a member of the Courts of Sweden’s international expert panel.

Per Lennerbrant has been a Senior Judge at Stockholm District Court since 2018. Before this, he was Chief Judge at Eskilstuna District Court. Prior to this he worked at the Ministry of Justice for some 14 years, including as permanent secretary for the unit for procedural code and court issues, as well as senior advisor at the penal law unit. Per Lennerbrant has investigated provisions regarding new trials in criminal cases and has also served as acting senior lecturer in procedural code at Stockholm University.
