Volksanwalt Amon, der in der Volksanwaltschaft unter anderem für die Landesverteidigung zuständig ist, traf Klaudia Tanner, die Bundesministerin für Landesverteidigung (BMLV), zu einem gemeinsamen Arbeitsgespräch. Das Gespräch drehte sich sowohl um die Zukunft und die Weiterentwicklung des Bundesheeres, als auch um konkrete Problemstellungen, mit denen sich betroffene Bürger im letzten Jahr an die Volksanwaltschaft wandten.

Erst kürzlich präsentierte die Volksanwaltschaft ihren Bericht an den Nationalrat und Bundesrat, in dem auch Beschwerden im Bereich des BMLV behandelt wurden. Die meisten dieser Beschwerden bezogen sich auf Stellungsangelegenheiten. Wie in dem Fall eines jungen Mannes, der trotz rechtzeitiger Abgabe einer Zivildiensterklärung einen Einberufungsbefehl erhielt. Seinen Zivildienst hatte der Wehrpflichtige bereits angetreten, als ihm plötzlich ein Einberufungsbefehl vom Militärkommando zugestellt wurde. Mittlerweile hat sich der Fall zur Zufriedenheit des Betroffenen gelöst. Es wurde der Aufforderung der Volksanwaltschaft nachgekommen und die Beschwerdevorentscheidung des Militärkommandos aufgehoben. Der Wehrpflichtige konnte somit seinen Zivildienst beenden, ohne sich Sorgen machen zu müssen, gleichzeitig den Grundwehrdienst absolvieren zu müssen.

Bundesministerin Tanner und Volksanwalt Amon betonten die Wichtigkeit einer weiterhin guten Zusammenarbeit, eines guten Austausches, im Sinne der Bürgerinnen und Bürger.
