Ombudsman Ger Deering interview with Patrick O’Donnell on the ‘Access All Areas’ radio show on 92.5 Phoenix FM. ‘Access All Areas’ provides a voice for the Disabled Community and their families, carers, friends etc. as well as those organisations and groups who work with and on behalf of disabled people on both a professional and voluntary basis. It is produced and presented by Blanchardstown Centre for Independent Living (BCIL). The programme is broadcast every Thursday afternoon from 4 to 5pm, on 92.5 Phoenix FM which is a community based local radio station broadcast from Blanchardstown and covering the Dublin 15 area with a potential reach of 90,000 people. Ombudsperson participates in conference on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights

The Ombudsperson, Maria Lúcia Amaral, participates in a conference on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, promoted by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, Dunja Mijatović.

How to protect human rights, holistically and in all sectors of activity, in the face of accelerating reliance on digital technologies and automation based on access to personal data, and what role National Human Rights Institutions can play in this process, is the central theme of the conference, which takes as its starting point the recommendations addressed to Member States in 2019 by the Commissioner.

The event takes place in Amsterdam, on 30 and 31 March, and brings together more than thirty representatives of national and international structures with relevant intervention in the promotion and defence of human rights.
