Le calcul des contributions ex ante pour 2022 au Fonds de résolution unique (FRU) est illégal

Le Conseil de résolution unique (CRU) a dépassé un plafond annuel imposé par la réglementation applicable L‘établissement de crédit français Dexia conteste devant le Tribunal de l’Union européenne la légalité de la décision 1 du CRU fixant les contributions ex ante 2 pour 2022 au FRU en ce qu’elle la concerne.

Following the Government's meeting on the amendment to the Ombudsman Act, the Public Defender of Rights Stanislav Křeček welcomed the Minister for Legislation's position on the institution of a Children's Ombudsman. The establishment of the Children's Ombudsman along with the expansion of the Ombudsman's mandate in the protection of human rights was approved by the Government on Wednesday April 10th.

„I welcome the opportunity to participate in the Cabinet meeting on the Ombudsman Amendment Bill, which would expand our current scope in the protection of human rights as a NHRI. The amendment also enshrines the creation of a new independent institution of the Children's Ombudsman. This is a major step towards improving the protection of children's rights," said Ombudsman Stanislav Křeček after the government meeting.    

The Czech Republic is one of the last European countries lacking a children's ombudsman. For these shortcomings, the state has long faced criticism from the UN, the Council of Europe and EU institutions, and in recent years, increasing reservations from representatives of czech civil society. Thanks to the amendment to the Ombudsman Act, the situation should change.

"I appreciate the approach of the Minister for Legislation, Michal Šalomoun, to the staffing needs of this new institution. The Children's Ombudsman cannot fulfil the tasks assigned by the law alone, he needs enough experts to do so," the Ombudsman added, adding that he is ready for further negotiations and debate on the future of the Children's Ombudsman both in the Chamber of Deputies and during the budgetary process.

Veronika Meyer im vierten Wahlgang mit 25 Stimmen zur Volksanwältin gewählt

Die April-Sitzungsfolge des Südtiroler Landtags wurde am Donnerstagnachmittag mit dem vierten Wahlgang zur Wahl der Volksanwältin/des Volksanwaltes fortgesetzt: Bei diesem entfielen 25 Stimmen auf Veronika Meyer, die damit zur Volksanwältin gewählt ist und für die kommenden fünf Jahre im Amt sein wird (2 Stimmen hat Martin Wenter erhalten, 3 Franz Locher, 1 Arno Kompatscher, 3 Stimmzettel waren weiß geblieben).

Es wurde dann mit den in der der Opposition vorbehaltenen Zeit zu behandelnden Punkten der Tagesordnung fortgefahren.

È ripresa nel pomeriggio la procedura di elezione del nuovo Difensore civico/della nuova Difensora civica, dopo che nelle tre votazioni svolte questa mattina nessuno dei candidati - Paolo Cattaruzza Dorigo, Veronika Meyer e Martin Wenter - aveva raggiunto la maggioranza qualificata dei ¿ prevista dalla legge provinciale 11/2020. Nella quarta votazione, Meyer ha ottenuto 25 voti, risultando quindi eletta nuova Difensora civica dell’Alto Adige (3 schede bianche, 2 per Wenter, 3 per Franz Locher, 1 per Arno Kompatscher).

On 19 April, a workshop on fundamental rights data collection will take place at FRA. The objective is to provide expertise to Albanian authorities in developing fundamental rights data collection methodologies.

This will support Albania’s path of accession to the EU. Albania is an EU candidate country and observer to the work of FRA.

The Albanian delegation will be led by the Deputy Minister of Interior. Experts from different Ministries, national human rights institutions, and national statistical office will also attend.

The workshop will focus on fundamental rights data collection and use of equality data to help monitor the level of implementation of human rights related EU legislation, policies and strategies. It will also look at the intersectional approach to data and disaggregation, including gender, violence against women, law enforcement, Roma, children’s rights and civic space.

The European Integration Unit of the Albanian Ministry of Justice organised the visit.  The European Union for Law Enforcement in Albania project (EU4LEA) funded and supported the delegation’s visit.
