Asks public to share their experiences with him of making a complaint

Ombudsman Peter Tyndall has today, 13 June 2014, announced an investigation into how complaints are handled by public hospitals in Ireland and has asked members of the public for their assistance. The Ombudsman's wide ranging investigation will look at how public hospitals across the State manage and investigate complaints from patients and their families.

Public Services Ombudsman for Wales publishes Annual Report 2013/14

Acting Public Services Ombudsman for Wales, Professor Margaret Griffiths, laid the Annual Report for the year 2013/14 before the National Assembly for Wales on 18 June 2014.  The report reveals that enquiries to the office are up 11% on 2012/13 and complaints about public service providers are up 8%.  The number of complaints received about health bodies continues to be of concern – these are up 11% on 2012/13, but notably have increased by 146% over the past five years.
