El Defensor del Pueblo, Ángel Gabilondo, ha iniciado una actuación de oficio ante la Consejería de Familia, Juventud y Política Social de la Comunidad de Madrid solicitando información acerca de la situación de las diez menores liberadas ayer en el marco de una operación policial contra la explotación de menores con fines sexuales y de tráfico de drogas en la Comunidad de Madrid.

Según informaciones publicadas por diferentes medios de comunicación, varias de estas menores se encuentran o han estado acogidas en centros de protección de menores de la Comunidad de Madrid. La Institución quiere verificar esta información y conocer los protocolos específicos para la detección precoz de casos de abuso, explotación o trata de menores que se aplican en los centros de protección madrileños. Además, se ha interesado por las actuaciones y medidas previstas para mejorar la atención a menores susceptibles de explotación, tanto en los centros o pisos residenciales como fuera de los mismos.

The Chancellor of Justice received the A-status accreditation as a national human rights institution by the GANHRI Sub-Committee on Accreditation (SCA). The decision on accreditation preceded by a submission of a comprehensive statement on the independence, mandate and composition of the institution of the Chancellor of Justice, and an oral hearing by the SCA in December last year.

"With this decision, international experts gave the highest possible assessment of the institutional independence of the Chancellor of Justice of Estonia, as well as of the quality of work done on the protection and promotion of human rights," commented the Chancellor of Justice Ülle Madise.

The body with an A-status accreditation may attend in sessions of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and take the floor under any agenda item, submit documentation and take up separate seating. The body can also fully participate in the international and regional work and meetings of national institutions as a voting member, and comment on the national report for Universal Periodic Review (UPR). The latter means that the views of the government and civil society organisations on the human rights situation in Estonia will be hereafter complemented by the analysis of the Chancellor of Justice as the national human rights institution of Estonia.

Das „International Ombudsman Institute“, mit Sitz in der österreichischen Volksanwaltschaft, ist durch Verordnung des Außenministers mit 01.01.2022 eine „Internationale Einrichtung“.

Volksanwalt Amon: "Es freut mich mitzuteilen, dass das „International Ombudsman Institute“ (IOI), eine internationale Vereinigung von unabhängigen Verwaltungskontrollorganen, die ihren Sitz seit 2009 in Wien bei der Österreichischen Volksanwaltschaft hat, durch Verordnung des Außenministers auf Basis des Amtssitzgesetzes mit Wirkung vom 1. Jänner 2022 zu einer „Internationalen Einrichtung“ wird."

The Austrian Ministry for European and International Affairs granted the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) a status as international institution in accordance with the Austrian Act on Headquarter Locations (Amtssitzgesetz); i.e. the federal law to enhance Austria as the location for headquarters of international organizations. Pursuant to regulation 594 on “Granting Legal Capacity to Other International Institutions”, the IOI holds the privileged and more beneficial status of an international institution as of 1 January 2022.

This is an important step to further strengthening the IOI’s role as independent, international organization representing more than 200 Ombudsman institutions around the world and it will increase the IOI’s recognition as the authoritative body on Ombudsman matters significantly. With this new status, the IOI will be able to enhance its presence and standing at the international level. It is an essential step in driving forward one of the IOI’s key objectives:  the promotion of the Ombudsman concept and the support of colleagues around the world.

Le Bureau du Défenseur des droits de l’homme d’Arménie a récemment publié le guide “Apprenons les droits de l’enfant”, qui est le résultat de la coopération entre le Bureau du Défenseur des droits de l’homme et l’UNICEF.

Le manuel a été certifié par le décret du Ministre de l’éducation, de la science, de la culture et des sports d’Arménie pour être utilisé comme matériel éducatif dans les écoles.

La Division de la protection des droits de l’enfant du Bureau du Défenseur des droits de l’homme a fait d’énormes efforts pour préparer ce guide.

Il est nécessaire de sensibiliser les enfants à leurs droits et aux possibilités existantes d’exercer ces droits : ainsi, les enfants seront en mesure d’exercer correctement leurs droits, de protéger les droits des autres enfants, de prévenir leur violation, ainsi que d’être des citoyens responsables.
